We have been trying to make a concentrated effort finding sensory activities for Nathan to do. Since the summer months have come it is great to be able to spend more time outside playing ball or he likes to just lay in the grass. A few weeks ago his sister put roller blades on him to see how he would do and surprisingly he got around real well.
The carpet was a good place to start as he got used to balancing and then we moved him on to linoleum.
After he skated for a while we noticed his speech and conversational skills were a little more coherent.
If you can’t afford skates but would like to try this activity, we found our pair at the thrift store. This is a great therapy exercise without paying for an expensive office visit and you can do repeatedly at home! Enjoy!
